Top-10 Finish: Billy Horschel (+360): This isn’t asking too much, given there are only 29 players teeing it up. Even though he missed the BMW to nurse an ailing hip injury, he’ll improve from the T-5 position where he’s starting the week. That mix should ensure both players bring their best stuff to the first tee, and Smith’s all-around game is too good to ignore. ![]() He’ll have plenty of motivation if this is, in fact, his swan song on Tour, and Zalatoris’ WD means Smith will play the first round with Tour stalwart Rory McIlroy. Multiple reports have linked the Players and Open champ to the LIV Golf series, and the Aussie is essentially expected to bolt after cashing one last check at East Lake. But I’m buying in on Smith in what, frankly, could be his last PGA Tour start. Top-5 Finish: Cameron Smith (+250): These derivative markets require a keen understanding of the starting strokes format, as some players are teeing off with a tangible advantage: Scheffler, two clear of Cantlay, is -324 to stay inside the top 10. Schauffele has three wins to his credit over his last 10 starts, and now it’s his turn to cash in big time on one of his favorite tracks. Schauffele played all four rounds last week with Cantlay, watching his friend hang on for a one-shot win, but his T-3 finish was no slouch. As a result I’m buying at this price on a guy who loves East Lake, having won here in 2017 and posted the low 72-hole total a year ago (although it didn’t count as an official win). ![]() Tournament Winner: Xander Schauffele (+650): Schauffele will start four shots off the lead because of the starting strokes format, but because Will Zalatoris withdrew early in the week, he’s only chasing two players: Scottie Scheffler (-10) and Patrick Cantlay (-8).
